Online Consultation Services

You can be seen as a telemedicine patient and pay the same fees as otherwise but there is a greater option of appointment times.  The service is done via a HIPPA-compliant platform.

If you need to ask questions in between appointments you can do so and this is an alternative way to obtain help from me. This service was reserved for patients who have had at least one initial face to face evaluation with Dr. do Valle, however is being offered as a separate service to new patients as well.

FAQs:

Are e-consults covered or reimbursed by health insurance?

Some plans cover email services by your physician, but most don't. To find out if your health insurer pays for email consults, contact them and ask if your benefits cover CPT code 99444.

Do I have to be familiar with PayPal to use this service?

No. Even without a PayPal account, payment is quick, easy and secure. You will need only your credit card information and billing info.

Why does Dr. do Valle charge for email contact?

I am pleased to be one of the few physicians who offers patients direct access to their doctor via email. This feature of her practice has been much appreciated by patients, but if not treated as a billable service, it creates a large daily burden of uncompensated work. Most patients find the convenience and immediacy of email consults well worth the modest cost. Emailing the doctor is free of charge if you simply wish to pass along information and do not require a response, or have practical questions about billing or scheduling. And, of course, you are always welcome to schedule an office or video visit rather than use email to address your needs.

Is e-consult appropriate for any question or need that I have?

No. E-consults are not designed to address urgent needs, such as when a patient is suicidal or otherwise experiencing severe emotional symptoms. Similarly, if a patient is seeking to switch medications, an office visit is usually more appropriate.

What sort of response can I expect?

Generally, the doctor will spend 10 to 15 minutes thinking about, researching and writing her reply to you. If you have included multiple questions in your email or the issue is particularly complex, Dr. do Valle will respond as completely as the 10 to 15 minutes allows, but may suggest you initiate a second e-consult or follow-up with an office visit for more ideal care.
